This may probably be the weirdest news, you ever heard. A woman in Central India recently found out a baby skeleton had been camping in her stomach home for the past 38 years!
Kantabai Thakre had an ectopic pregnancy at the age of 24, in 1978. According to the Mayo Clinic, an ectopic pregnancy is when the fertilized egg that is supposed to attach itself to the lining of the uterus, ends up somewhere outside of it and cannot proceed as a normal pregnancy.
At the time, doctors warned the expectant mother her unborn child had little chance of survival, after it was found to be growing outside of her womb. Terrified at the thought of an operation, she fled and sought treatment for the pain at a small clinic. Months later when the pain subsided, Ms Thakre was convinced the problem had been treated.
Now, Sixty two years old, Thakre was experiencing awful stomach pains and decided to go to the doctor to find out the cause. When Dr. Mohammad Yunus Shah and his team operated, they found the remains of the child from her ectopic pregnancy in the 70s.
Dr. Shah (pictured above with his medical team) said:
“She apparently knew that the baby had died and that she would need an operation, and we gathered she got scared at the prospect of surgery and so went away to her village without undergoing the operation. This is the longest ectopic pregnancy ever recorded.”
