A Toyota Sienna skidded off the Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos and plunged into the lagoon on Saturday morning. The driver was the lone occupant inside.
Lucky for him, fishermen from Ilaje and around the area gathered for a rescue operation and managed to pull him out alive.
He was taken to the Lagos State Teaching Hospital in Ikeja.
The FRSC confirmed that he survived with injuries but attributed the cause of the accident to over-speeding.
Below is a video of a witness’ account of the rescue efforts.
