Arsenal are fast closing in on what is expected to be a new club record deal for France international Alexandre Lacazette after the Lyon forward was reported to be undergoing a medical with the Gunners on Tuesday afternoon.
The latest update comes from Sky Sports, with Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas already confirming at the weekend to local Lyon-based media that a deal was close to being finalised within ‘one or two days’.

“The transfer will be in the range between €45m and €50m,” Ausas said to Le Progres.
“Being close to €50m is something unique, and will probably be a record for Arsenal and Olympique Lyonnais as well. We will probably reach a new record, it’s not a small transfer, €50m for a player trained by our club.”
A €50m deal equates to £43.9m and would surpass the record £42.5m fee that Arsenal paid Real Madrid to buy Mesut Ozil in the summer of 2013. Other estimates even place the fee significantly higher at £53m.
