The search for the two-year-old boy who was snatched by an alligator at a Walt Disney World resort Tuesday night has been called off.
Seventeen hours after the tragic attack, divers pulled the boy’s body out of the Seven Seas Lagoon. Police have identified the boy as Lane Graves, son of Matt and Melissa Graves of Elkhorn, Nebraska.
The discovery comes after a lifeguard revealed the toddler was actually wading in water ten feet from the shore when he was pulled underwater by the gator.
The boy’s father ran into the water and tried to wrestle him away from the gator but was not successful. More than 50 people worked overnight and nearly all day Wednesday before they found the boy’s body.Lane (pictured with his sister and grandfather) had arrived on vacation in Orlando with his family, who are from Nebraska, on Sunday.
