BREAKING | Nigerian Embassy Workers Protest Five-Month Salary Arrears, Go On Strike

nigerian embassy-washingtonWorkers of the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington DC, United States of America, have gone on strike, online news platform, Per Second News, has claimed.

According to the online medium which is based in the United States, the strike commenced today (Tuesday).

This has led to the grounding of activities at the Embassy, the medium claimed.

It said the main reason for the strike was because the workers were being owed five-month salary.

“The workers are also complaining about their working conditions,” it reported.

Per Second News claimed that the Nigerian flag in front of the building was tattered.

One of the striking workers reportedly said, “We are being owed for the past five months.”

The medium also said the workers had threatened to report their employers to the US Labour Department.

The medium also said that the workers number between 50 and 100.
