On Monday the 14th of January, some Nigerian men reportedly caught in the act of homosexuality were arrested by their community men in Ekwe, a village very close to Umuka in Njaba LGA of Imo State.
According to eyewitnesses, they were allegedly molested by their community men. They were later stripped naked and linked by a rope tied around their waists before being whisked to the elders of the village.
The photos capturing their ordeal their ordeal have since gone viral, with a range of reactions from Nigerians.

Steve Aborisade, Founder/Coordinator of the Nigeria HIV Info; a group dedicated to the protection of the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS wrote a letter to the governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha.
Aborisade, in the letter titled: Gross Abuse Of Human Rights Through A Homophobic Attack On Three Men In Ekwe Area of Imo State, said:
While acknowledging that several Nigerians find the practice of homosexuality strange and unnatural, we also realize that it does not confer a license to trample on the rights of people who engages in it, with the sort of inhuman treatment that was meted out to these them.
