Germany Continues To Dominate International Football With Confederations Cup Win

Chile v Germany: Final - FIFA Confederations Cup Russia 2017Germany followed in the footsteps of their U21 side by winning a major final 1-0, with huge thanks owed to Chile midfielder Marcelo Diaz – ultimately it was his mistake that led to what proved to be the winner, thus continuing Germany’s dominance of international football in the process.

Joachim Low’s side were arguably second-best throughout the Confederations Cup final, but came out on top in Saint Petersburg thanks to some resolute defending, good goalkeeping and perhaps some blind dumb luck.

They claimed the trophy – which comes three years after their World Cup win in Brazil over Argentina – and also showed the world just how wide an array of talent they have at their disposal after leaving their higher profile stars at home.
