koo-prison-phJournalist and blogger, Kemi Omololu-Olunloyo has made a post updating us on her current status while on detention in Port-Harcourt.

The investigative journalist who was arrested by police in Ibadan on Wednesday March 15, and driven to Port Harcourt where she has been remanded in prison without bail wrote on her IG page:

“Dear fans and friends, i am in good spirits, i go for a bail hearing this 23rd March.

Kemi was allegedly arrested for cyber crime and defamation of character, after she published a letter sent to her by a member of Salvation Ministries, Port Harcourt. The letter was said to contain information accusing the pastor of the church, David Ibiyeomie (pictured below with Kemi) of having an affair with a popular Yoruba actress among other alleged atrocities.DAVID IBIYEOMIE-KOO-CVIt has been alleged that the pastor is behind Kemi’s arrest and hashtags like #FreeKOO, FreMadamHNN and FreeKemiOlunloyo have been created on social media to demand the journalist’s immediate release.

We’re keeping our fingers crossed and hoping for the best.

Keep your head up Kemi!
