Barack Obama stopped by the 40/40 club last night to attend a fundraiser hosted by Jay-Z and Beyonce. The 44th President is in New York to raise awareness for his campaign as well as attend the opening of this year’s session of the United Nations.
“President Obama took time out from a fundraiser Tuesday to praise his hosts, Beyonce and Jay-Z, at the 40/40 club in New York City.
“Beyonce could not be a better role model for my girls,” he said.
He added that he and Jay-Z have a lot in common.
“We both have daughters and our wives are more popular than we are. So, you know, we’ve got a little bond there. It’s hard but it’s okay.”
It was a more subdued speech than what some may have expected at such a glitzy affair, although the President gave some of his standard motivational speeches as well.
The President went on to say,”Michelle, Sasha and Malia are mad at me because they aren’t here.”
And the President ended his speech with some classic hip-hop sh*t, “I was gonna just ‘drop the mic’ but I decided that would be inappropriate.”
Beyonce introducing the President said: “I can’t tell you how proud we are to host tonight’s event with President Obama,” while introducing Obama, 51. “We believe in his vision.”
Props to Jay and Bey!
