New Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola has reportedly sealed the second summer signing for the Manchester side. Guardiola, after clinching the Bundesliga title and DFB cup for German giants, Bayern Munich before leaving last season has signed German wonder kid, Leroy Sane for a reported fee of £40m.
After securing Borussia Dortmund midfielder, Ilkay Gundogan, the City boss continues his raid on the Bundesliga. 20-year-old winger, Sane must have been thrilled by the thought of playing under the legendary coach. The german youngster previously stated that a move to Spanish giants, Barcelona would be considered a ‘dream move’.
“I make no secret of this,” he told Bild, per ESPN FC. “Some time in the future I want to play abroad and at an even bigger club than Schalke. Most of all at Barca -even as a little boy, that was my dream club.”
If the speculations are true, then Jesus Navas will have to fight for his spot in the starting line up next season. Sane will reportedly move to the Etihad after the European championships with Germany.
Another player Pep Guardiola is keen to add to his ranks is Athletic Bilbao center-back Aymeric Laporte. But the transfer target was dealt a blow when the player signed a new deal for the club. If Guardiola insists on the 22-year-old he will have to activate the new £55.6m release clause.
