Sightings: Chanel’s Spring 2013 Hula Hoop Bag

Karl Lagerfeld‘s Chanel showcased a lot of bags at the Paris Fashion Week’s Spring 2013 Collection. One of the stand-out pieces from the collection was the “hula hoop bag”.

The bag in question is literally a giant quilted number held between two hula hoops. It’s impractical and unnecessary, but Karl obviously doesn’t think so. He even modeled it  below! 🙂

Lagerfeld told The Daily Telegraph about the bag’s usefulness:

“It’s for the beach. You need space for the beach towel, huh? And then you can put it into the sand and hang things on it, and things like that. The bathing suit with it was the only thing with the Chanel logo, there was no logo.”

What do you think of the Hula Hoop Bag? Is it a fashion statement or a sheer waste as a beach bag? Have your say.

  1. Ok,the last three or four bags are cool. But the other ones? The guy should have just given the models steering wheels instead of those.
