American rapper Snoop Dogg – now known as Snoop Lion was spotted at LAX on Wednesday looking all funkified and flamboyant in a red tracksuit with a matching faux fur coat. The 41-year-old made quite an entrance and showed the way to travel in style with his head-to-toe red ensemble.
Snoop Lion stars in a short film created by Adidas called “The Cautionary Tale of Ebenezer Snoop,” which is a modern day animated spin off of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. In the film, Snoop wears this same red tracksuit to play Ebenezer Snoop.
The short film opens with skateboard hero Mark Gonzales playing the role of Snoop’s butler as he recalls the classic tale.
American Tennis legend Stan Smith, 65, also features in the film as the Ghost of Christmas Past and he smacks Ebenezer Snoop through time.
David Beckham, 37, makes an appearance in the film as the Ghost of Christmas Present, complete with tattooed arms. The LA Galaxy midfielder warns Snoop about what a difference his presence makes to a house party with other guests such as Andy Murray.
Chicago Bulls basketball player Derrick Rose joins forces with British pop star Rita Ora to form the Ghosts of Christmas Future.
The star-studded cartoon also has appearances from global Adidas stars such as Jeremy Scott, Dani Alves, Yohan Blake and Dwight Howard.
As the film closes, you are invited to find out if you are an Ebenezer, and if so, the chance to redeem yourself via a Facebook app. The Facebook application takes you on a personalised journey of what could become if you don’t change your ways – Snoop might not be the only Ebenezer.
Adidas is using the Ebenezer Snoop Holiday Campaign to invoke the spirit of holiday sharing.
Adidas Brand Marketing Director, Christy Kilmartin, explains that they wanted to create a legitimate solution to Holiday gift-buying that would resonate with all gift-givers, young and old.
She added: ‘With our adidas take on a traditional Holiday story, we have created something truly funny and relevant, and using Facebook, offered consumers a way of sharing Holiday Spirit in a way fit for 2012.’
So after appraising yourself to know whether you’re stingy or generous, you could then use the diverse portfolio of Adidas icons to select gifts you want to buy for your loved ones.
