Usain Bolt was so fast in his 200m semi-final that he had time to share a joke on the finish line, GiveMeSport reports.
The Jamaican was seen laughing with Canadian Andre de Grasse as the pair finished first and second to reach the final in Rio.
Bolt, as he always does in heats and semi-finals, started jogging midway through the race and was rather surprised to see De Grasse next to him on the finish line.
The only way in which the 21-year-old could catch up to Bolt would be, of course, by continuing to sprint.
And given that this was only the semi-final, watching De Grasse exert energy in an attempt to overtake him – which wasn’t necessary, considering the first two went through – surprised the world’s fastest man.
“Andre was supposed to slow down. He didn’t,” Bolt said afterwards in an interview with the BBC.
“I said: ‘What are you doing, it is the semi-finals?’ He said he had to push me.”
