Who Said Tattoos Had To Be Permanent? Talented Make Up Artist Shows How To Conceal Your Tattoo

TATTOO-MUA-CVMake up can be used to cover blemishes, correct dark circles and hide scarring.

But one woman has taken it to the next level, using a thick layer of orange concealer to cover a tattoo on her leg.
A video by Instagram make up artist Vela Beauty shows her cover the tattoo in just 10 minutes, using a primer, concealer and foundation.

The video, which has received 4,510 views since it was posted on Sunday, starts with the vlogger covering the tattoo with Nivea Men Post Shave Balm.

The $12 balm has previously made headlines as make up artists have opted to use it over high-end primers.
Many swore by the product, saying it made their make up last all day.

The make up job took less than 10 minutes…

End result: The tattoo was completely hidden beneath five layers of primer, concealer, setting powder and foundation

The coverage included men’s shaving balm as a primer, orange concealer, translucent setting powder, more concealer and foundation.

The talented make up artist followed the balm with a thick, orange concealer by LA Girl Cosmetics. The orange colour of the concealer helped to counteract the darkness of the tattoo.

She said,

‘I don’t actually cover up any of my tattoos, just did this to see if I could and it totally works if you have any events or reasons to cover your tats try the @lagirlcosmetics orange corrector.’

Next, she applied a translucent powder to set the product, before following with a pro concealer in an ivory shade.
She finished with a longwear foundation by Mac cosmetics, which she buffed in to the skin using a beauty blender sponge.

With the tattoo no longer visible, at the end of the video, the Vela Beauty vlogger took a make up wipe to her leg and swept away the layers of make up to reveal the tattoo beneath.
