Kanisha Anthony‘s story is one that is so awe-inspiring. She was involved in a terrible fire accident at age 4 and survived. This setback did not leave her spirit broken, instead it transformed her into a stronger woman who is today a confidence promoter.
At the age of 4 I was in a house fire. I remember being trapped by a room full of fire than being pulled out of the window by my big toe.
I was in the house with my mom and 3 brothers.. two brothers (age 2 and 6) did not make it out. I was sent to one hospital where they weren’t able to do any thing for me, then flown to another by the time I made it there my heart had stopped.
My mother had been told her 3rd baby died. After a few minutes I was given another chance at life. And I don’t take it for granted at all. I was burned over 60% of my body, lost 4 fingers, lost my ear, and lost all of my hair that isn’t able to grow back again.
Those were the things that I lost… but Igained so much more. I was given life. I am married. In this pic I am pregnant with my 3rd child. I am blessed. And you are too. No matter what you are going through in life know that you have been picked personally to live the life you are living. Through your bad days and through the good you are here.”There use to be days where I would limit myself from doing things I thought I couldn’t do. I let other people convince me that because of my hands I wasn’t capable of doing a lot.
Last year I signed up to volunteer to build a house for habitat for humanity, but I chickened out. I underestimated myself and thought there was no way little ole me could do all that with missing fingers.
Well today I decided I would no longer limit myself. Didn’t let fear get in the way, got these hands dirty and helped build a house!! The only limits in life are the ones you make yourself 👊👊👊👊
What would your life look like if you decided not to care what people thought of you? What would life be like if you decided to give up some of your fears?
What would your life be like if you decided to become courageous? It takes courage to live babe. I’m here to tell you you have it in you💓💓💓
